Learn about my inspiration

Denise Pane and her brother Curtis

Hey there, Not long ago, I teased you that my business will be changing, radically, and soon. If you missed that, go back and check it out so this one makes sense.

Hold that thought.

I want to shift gears here. I want to tell you about the biggest inspiration for the upcoming change.

My inspiration happens to be named Curtis.

He’s my brother.

Denise and Curtis

He’s three years older than me. Like me, he loves dogs. He’s the world’s MOST unphotogenic person, which is handy as it keeps me from having to be.  He’s a sports nut, both as a fan and an athlete (although he is getting up there in years (I HAD to include that ’cause he will be reading this ‘cause one of our favorite things to do to each other…well, you will see as you read on)).  He lives with our mom (and our dad until our dad died in 2000), and I am lucky to live only 1 hour away from my mom and bro so that we all spend 1 day a week together — even though he loves teasing me, and busting my chops, and giving me the ‘little-sister’ grief he’s dished out to me all our lives.

Curtis also has epilepsy and is developmentally delayed.

You wouldn’t have known that if I didn’t tell you. (He wasn’t just an athlete, for example. He was a Special Olympian.) And you wouldn’t know what life is like for him, unless you were as close to him as I am. How many unnecessary obstacles are in his way.

I’m going to close this note here. As I’d mentioned before, these emails are a journey I want to bring you along on. Yes, it’s about the changes coming to River Coyote Design. But it’s also about a lot more than that.

I’ll be checking back with you soon.
